Here at Website Depot, we’re always doing everything we can to be able to provide the best possible services to our clients. Sometimes, that means reassessing what we’ve been doing so as to do even better in the future. With that in mind, we’ve decided to suspend domain name purchases by June of this year. This isn’t something to fear, rather, it’s a way to improve our online SEO services and omnichannel digital marketing.

We are, however, continuing to provide hosting servers. Indeed, we currently have 65 servers to support clients’ web hostings. We are only ceasing domain registration.

A Way to Help Companies at the Beginning

We began this as a value-added service for our startup and small business clients. Once upon a time, Website Depot was a startup. Our Founder and CEO Danny Star knows what it’s like to have to start a business from the ground up. To make that transition easier on our clients, we offered domain hosting. This helped many of our clients, yes, but eventually, we realized that the best course of action was to make a change.

Why We’ve Made This Change

The first few years of a business can be challenging, to say the very least. Unfortunately, many good businesses don’t make it through those first few years. As a gesture of goodwill, we continued to offer domain hosting for those businesses that ceased operation for years. However, in time, that took away our focus from what matters most. So, by doing this, we’re able to re-center our core values all that much more on our clients.

What This Means

To be clear, this doesn’t mean we’re stopping domain hosting today. Far from it. We aren’t stopping domain hosting this year, or even next year, or the year after that. Instead, we’re stopping domain hosting in 2030. So, if your business gets your domain hosting through us, you have plenty of time to be able to find another provider.

Beyond that, we also are looking into subcontracting domain support to a third-party hosting service. That’s one more way that we could help to make this transition easier for businesses here.

How It Helps Our Clients Both Today and Tomorrow

Here at Website Depot, we believe in business owners. We believe in the businesses we work with. Yes, we’ve had many, many clients over the years. During that time, we’ve believed in each and every one of them that they would be able to grow, to reach their business goals. We’ve worked to make that happen.

Some businesses, unfortunately, don’t make it through those first few years. For so many reasons. Despite the best efforts of all involved, things happen and a business can’t make it. We never really close the door on anyone. So, for nearly ten years, we’ve provided for these domains without compensation.

Why? Well, first off, it was a sign of goodwill. Many of these businesses, we felt, could be able to come back, to grow, maybe if they got through a rough patch, they would be able to turn things around. In time, though, this began to take a toll, albeit even a small one, on what we do for our current clients, the companies that we’re helping to grow right now.

To be able to provide them with the best possible services, we’re implementing this change. It doesn’t change anything for our current clients. What it does mean is that we’ll be able to do our jobs even that much better and more effectively.

That said, we would never do this right away, or even in a brief period of time. No, we believe that the companies we’re providing this service for (even the ones that aren’t around anymore) should have plenty of time to be able to make this transition. So, we’re not going through with it until the end of this decade and the start of the next, in 2030.

That should give any business owner, company, etc., to be able to find what they need. In that time, we very well may find a subcontractor to work with so as to move everything to a third-party hosting service. It’s one more way that we may be able to continue to help.

Online SEO Services for the Long Haul

By doing this, we’re going to further streamline our own services. As an omnichannel digital marketing agency that provides a wide range of services, we can tell you that those services are always changing. By being able to provide the highest quality services for our clients we can help them to grow in both this decade and for several decades to come.
