Staying Ahead of the Game With TikTok Marketing for Any Business

“Yeah, we might have some customers on TikTok, but it’s not for us. We don’t know how to, you know, do that kind of thing.”
If there’s one thing we’ve heard about TikTok marketing at Website Depot, it’s something similar to that.
It’s a perfectly understandable concern.
Even now, TikTok is seen in the cultural zeitgeist as something that’s just for cool young people. Business owners and marketers alike may feel like they aren’t a great fit for the platform.
However, that’s just not true.
For one, there are so many more people on TikTok than just teenagers.
It’s only grown in popularity with essentially every age demographic.
On top of that, you absolutely have what it takes to succeed with TikTok advertising, videos, and more. We already included TikTok marketing in many of our SEO services packages. Now, recent additions by TikTok have opened up new opportunities for everyone.
New TikTok Features
Livestreaming became even more popular during the pandemic.
If you’re like so many of us, you saw someone’s live stream on Instagram, Facebook, and elsewhere.
Now, you can do the same on TikTok. TikTok themselves explained this in the post “All the Ways You Can Enjoy LIVE With TikTok.”
You can do any number of live events on TikTok. This is perfect for those virtual events, tours, and more.
To be clear, even though traditional TikTok videos have a very short run time, these live streams can go much, much longer.
However, TikTok added extra features to their live streaming that you may not be able to get elsewhere.
For example, “Go LIVE Together” allows two people, from two different TikTok apps to live stream at the same time in the same place.
“LIVE Q&A” is basically an extension of that, where “hosts are able to easily engage with and respond to viewer’s questions in real-time.”
Now, you might think, “Hey, that sounds great. But, I can’t have a lot of negativity from the chat and whatever casting a pall on my live stream here.”
TikTok understands that’s a concern. So, they added “Keyword Filters.” With these, “hosts can turn off comments or add up to 200 terms in the keyword filter to limit those (negative and/or harmful) comments in the chat.” Moreover, “words can be added to the list throughout the live stream by hosts and the person helping them.”
So, TikTok has taken a major step forward with live streaming.
How do you think your business can take advantage of this?
How Your Company Can Utilize Them
Again, it’s important not to let TikTok’s youth outreach intimidate you.
Just about any company can take advantage of these.
For example, with “Go LIVE Together,” you can interview someone in front of your followers. It could be someone else in your industry, another worker at your company, someone that your customer base would be interested in hearing from, and so forth. This is similar to what we do with some of our Website Depot podcasts.
These are great ways to expand your reach, build your brand, and have fun in breaking up the workday all while connecting to more people.
The “Live Q&A” can be great, helping you to answer those questions that your customers/clients and the like have. Again, you can even do these with questions from employees for your company. As you’re in charge, you could even take questions ahead of time or hold some kind of raffle/deal for folks to get their questions taken in.
Now, I’m not advocating that you stop all of your marketing just to do TikTok live streaming or anything of the sort. But, as one more way to reach your customers, it could be very potent.
