The world is much more uncertain than the last time we spoke. You don’t need another person telling you to wash your hands, wear gloves, and so forth. Instead, I want to tell you specific actions you can take right now that can help your business to maintain momentum throughout this process:
Connect with Your Clients.
They’re going to want to hear from you. They want to know that you’re still working, that you’re still in business. It will be a comfort, in a way, to hear from you, because it’s one more sign of normalcy in a very abnormal time. If you have something that you want to put up on your site, we can do that. If you’d like us to draft something for you, we can do that, too.
Send Out a Newsletter
It shows what you’re doing, what you’re offering, it’s a powerful way to say: “we’re here to stay.” It allows those who’ve done business with you in the past to be reminded of your presence in a very tangible way.
Adjust Pricing
Depending on what your business is, this might be the best time to change your prices to fix the market. Some people are going to be looking for the necessities so that they can get by. Others are going to be looking for something that can make them feel good in a time that’s very hard for some. You may want to shift your prices to meet the moment.
Adjust Products/Services to Serve Remote – Adjust Working hours on GMB, Yelp, etc.
If you and your employees can work online, do it. You can take advantage of free Zoom meetings, Time Doctor (to make sure your employees are as productive as you would like), Skype, and even plain old conference calls to keep everyone connected. As the travel for many folks is going to be severely limited, the more you can do online, the better.
Put the Message Out on Social Media
The usage of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms has greatly increased since the social distancing period began. That means that more people are active on these platforms than ever before. This is a great opportunity to connect to even more people.
Press Release
Not dissimilar to the newsletter, but it’s one more way of showing off exactly how your company is rising to the occasion. An example of this, one of our clients, Wood Silverlake, a restaurant, had to close their dine-in options. But, they’ve been doing very well, because they’ve been selling so much take out.
Release a COVID-19 Video and pass your message
As we mentioned, YouTube and online videos are doing exceptionally well. You could tell people how your company is adjusting, or you could show them in a video. Video always puts a human face on things, shows that you’re more than just a company. During a time like this, when folks are going to be confused, it can be more beneficial than ever.
Those are just a few of the ways that you can help your business during this time. As it progresses, we’ll find others and share them with you. We’re here for you, helping you to grow your business. If there’s one thing that’s been made abundantly clear in the last few days, it’s that we’re all in this together.
