From Our Online Marketing Services: What Makes a Good Press Release?

Press Releases in SEO
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Have you been considering press releases for your company but aren’t sure if they’re right for you? Does it seem like a press release may help but you just don’t know? I’ve created so, so many press releases for our clients over the years. These are included in many of our online marketing services packages. There’s a reason for that: they’re effective.

Moreover, they’re effective in multiple ways. Below, I’ll go into some of the reasons that press releases can help your business. Along the way, I’ll cover why the ones I write have helped our clients. If you want to know more, reach out for a free case evaluation.

Incredible Reach

More so than anything else, a press release can reach a lot of people. Blogs get clicks. So too do service pages, portfolios, social media posts, and the like. However, press releases can do so even more.

We work with multiple press release distribution companies. Over the years, we’ve cultivated relationships with distribution companies that we trust. As a result, we’re able to create press releases for our clients that we know can get out in front of the people they want to be able to reach.

Moreover, these are fantastic for backlinks, too. As these press releases are posted (and in many cases, re-posted) in so many places, they can drive more folks to your business than you may think possible.

Informative

When I talk to a client about a press release, almost invariably the first question I ask them is some version of: “what do you want people to know about your company right now?” The “right now” is important.

See, what makes the best, most effective press releases, I’ve found, is being topical. That means that they’re current, about something which is going on with your company right now.

A press release can do wonders if you have a new product coming out, a new service, something that you’re offering that you weren’t before, and so forth.

Of course, you don’t need to have something new to have a great press release. It can be that you’re updating something that already exists. For example, I’ve had so many clients who sold pizza and had updated their menu, and so forth.

Effective For So Many Industries

You may have read to this point and thought: “OK, that sounds great, but I don’t sell pizza. Can a press release help me?” Absolutely.

Many of my clients are injury attorneys and rehab treatment centers. They don’t, as you might imagine, “offer new services” or anything of that nature. What they do, however, is offer professional services. I can pull from current events to make their press releases.

Case in point, many of my injury attorneys handle car accidents. As such, they get press releases that talk about car crash statistics at one time of year or another.

My rehab treatment center clients often discuss events they’re putting together, new educational services, what they’re doing in the community, and more.

Any business, essentially, can benefit from a good press release.

“Your Side of the Story”

In the end, that’s what a press release does. It shows your perspective, your side of the story, what makes your company yours. This shows off what’s best about you unadulterated and unfiltered. Press releases do it in a way that may reach more audiences (and reach more audiences more quickly) than blogs, service pages, and so forth might.

These are also great for when your business goes through changes. For example, if you’re announcing a new partnership, a restructuring, something like that, a press release provides clarity. People might have questions about your company. A press release can clear those up, letting people know how you’ll be able to continue to help them in the future.

How I Create Press Releases With Our Clients

First, I reach out to the client. I ask you if you have anything in mind. Then, I can pitch subjects to you. My goal is always to involve our clients as much (or as little) as they would like to be involved. That way, our clients always get a press release that’s best for their needs.

I’ve talked about these on the phone, on Zoom, and so many other places. I’m always up to talk about a press release. Whether I’m writing them from scratch or bringing your ideas to life, I make your press releases yours.

How We Measure Press Releases Here

Just putting a press release out isn’t enough. No, we also make sure that it gets your company what you should have. To that end, we make sure that your press release gets in front of the people that you want it to be in front of.

So, after your press release has been published, we get a full report. It shows everywhere it’s gone, who’s seen it, and so forth. Then, we can show you how that will help your company to grow.

Online Marketing Services That Can Help

Press releases are very effective, but they’re just one of many forms of content I can create for your company. That said, they’re just one kind of content that we offer. Beyond that, I’ve written blogs, service pages, city pages, product descriptions, and so much more.

Of course, there’s more to an omnichannel digital marketing plan than just written content. I’ve done plenty of videos and podcasts, too. Web designers, Google Ads pros, and so many others – they’re all here on our team, ready to make your company what you want it to be.
