Content Marketing for Lawyers (That Isn’t Just Blogs or Social Media)
Blogs can be a tremendous asset for lawyers.
Just one blog from a lawyer can drive engagement for years. It can become a resource for folks in need. Those people, in turn, will see the lawyer as an authority, someone to be trusted.
Social media, when done right, can provide the same.
However, there’s so many kinds of content marketing lawyers can avail themselves of now beyond just blogs.
Here at our lawyer SEO agency, we’ve helped lawyers of all kinds to grow their practice. If you’re stuck thinking about how to make content for your law firm, there are some ideas to keep in mind.
Show Them Who You Are
Video marketing can be especially powerful for lawyers.
Potential clients can see what you’d be like before they even call your practice.
It’s a great way to stand out, particularly when compared to law firms that just rely on blogs or other forms of the written word.
That said, video marketing has to be taken seriously.
Videos that don’t look great, have poor sound, or are lacking in technical qualities might do more harm than good. Whenever you make a video for your firm, ask: “would this make a great first impression?”
If the answer isn’t a resounding “yes,” then try again. Maybe edit the video. A little bit of experimentation can go a long way.
It doesn’t have to be a Hollywood epic or anything. But, any video (even if it’s just sixty seconds of one lawyer talking about what you do) should “put your best foot forward,” so to speak.
That said, you don’t have to just have lawyers talking in your videos.
For example, I do videos where I ask lawyer clients questions that come in.
It shows that our lawyer clients know what they’re talking about, can think quickly on their feet, and are listening to the community.
Another way to do that: show video testimonials of satisfied clients. Those can go a long way towards establishing your authority and credibility, too.
Easy to Follow Guide
A blog can be a great resource.
You know what can be an even better resource?
It combines the knowledge of a blog with visuals. An informative, easy to follow infographic can become something that’s positively associated with your firm for years and years.
We’ve made them for clients of all kinds, law firms and otherwise.
They can do almost everything that a blog can, except they can do it in an instant.
All of this having been said, don’t forget about blogs. Blogs are still one of the best forms of content marketing for lawyers. They almost invariably always will be, too.
That said, to really connect to potential clients out there, there’s so much more you can do.
