Have you begun to create content for your treatment center but the results have yet to come? Do you feel like you’re stuck in terms of content, constantly creating the same kinds of posts, blogs, videos, and the like, over and over again? To use one of the oldest cliches, content is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. You need to be able to produce consistent content of high quality to achieve real rehab SEO success. Indeed, that’s a service we provide for each of our clients.
There will be days when you’re very fired up to create content, when you’ll be raring to go. But, there will be other days when you’d rather do anything other than create content. The latter are what this blog is designed for. SEO and digital marketing strategies do not, as a general rule, take time off. So, it’s important to be able to do great work when you have to. The good news is that there are some tips you can use to create value-laden content no matter what.
Answer the Questions
People have questions. They have questions about rehab, about treatment, about what kind of services you offer, about why those services would be able to help and someone they love, about your amenities, and so forth. Those are just some of the questions that your content should be able to answer.
Now, you probably have a FAQ already on your site. But, if you’re stuck in terms of content, think of how to answer some of the not-so-frequently-asked questions, too. Those are the ones that can lead to new content that could better target some of your potential admits.
If you’ve been offering treatment for any length of time, then you probably know so, so many questions that people could potentially ask you. As long as you have a few of them (or sometimes even one or two of them) then you always have something that you can create content around.
They could be questions as big as “how will I pay for rehab” or “what are some signs that someone I love has an addiction?” But, you can also get content out of questions as small as “what happens on the first day of rehab” or “what should I pack when I come,” and so forth.
What makes this so potent is that you’re providing solutions while also demonstrating your expertise. Content that answers questions always has value, as it provides users with solutions the moment they read it. If you’re asking “how can I provide more value,” a great way to do so is to ask “what questions am I answering?”
Build on What You Have
Now, it’s possible that you read the above section and got a little frustrated. Maybe you’ve thought something like: “OK, sure, that sounds fine, but we answered so many questions already in our blogs. Why, we have a blog from five years ago that answers all of the questions that folks might ask…” That’s great! So, the next step then is to “update” that old content.
We put “update” in quotation marks because there are multiple ways to update old content. One of the best ways: actually update the page. Go find an old blog and update it. Perhaps there’s information on there that is out of date, old links that no longer work, advancements/improvements that you and your staff have made, and so forth. This can be very effective for SEO as search engines do tend to reward pages that have been around for a while.
To use an example from outside of the treatment facility industry, often, we’ll update the same page over the course of years for clients who have seasonal sales (such as Christmas sales). This strategy can be very effective for SEO.
Another way to do so: use the content in a new way. For example, maybe you wrote some really great content five years ago. So, today, you can put it in a video. You and another member of your staff can discuss it in a podcast. Perhaps it would make a fantastic TikTok or the like. That way, you’re still creating new content, but you aren’t “reinventing the wheel” so to speak to do so.
